This Aries solar eclipse is a powerful marker for the deeper rhythms of change we’re living through. Eclipses are accelerating forces, where time compresses and we experience a month’s worth of change in a matter of hours. They often mark major turning points, where something closes and something else begins, even if we don’t have conscious awareness of it at that eclipse moment.

This eclipse is especially significant because it coincides with Neptune’s entry into Aries. So it is a strong initiation for that Neptune. We haven’t seen Neptune in Aries since 1861. That year marked the beginning of the American Civil War, and of course these similar themes of division, disruption, and ideological intensity are re-emerging now.

But this particular entry of Neptune into Aries is far more powerful than that of 1861. Especially since in 2026 we have the Neptune again meeting on the Aries point (since he will retrograde back into Pisces later this year), but that next time of meeting at zero degrees Aries, he will be with Saturn.

We haven’t had that since 1BC. What we can say then is that we are getting a gentle introduction this year into what will amplify in magnitude next year.

On to Neptune, a planet that works subtly, often invisibly. It’s associated with vision, belief, collective dreaming, but also confusion, illusion, delusion and denial. When Neptune changes sign, we don’t usually feel it instantly — its influence tends to seep in, shaping perception slowly. Yet the fact that this shift coincides with a solar eclipse suggests that we may feel the effects more immediately or more intensely than usual.

This is a partial eclipse, but that doesn’t lessen its impact. It brings a sense of concentration — especially in Aries it acts like everything is happening at once, or that some invisible thread is pulling things together in a way we can’t quite make sense of yet. There can be a feeling of being inside something that’s still forming, a mixture of anticipation and disorientation.

With Neptune crossing the Aries point—the personal (Aries) and collective (Pisces) begin to blur. The Aries point is where private experiences ripple out into the collective field. Things that have been simmering beneath the surface may suddenly come into view. There’s a rawness to Aries, a will to initiate and act. And with Neptune here, there’s a risk of impulsive action based on false signals or incomplete truths. It’s important to pause before reacting, especially in the days around the eclipse.

This is not a moment to force clarity. Neptune’s nature is fog-like. It asks us to stay present even when the path is unclear. The eclipse may bring a sense that something is shifting, even if we can’t yet put our finger on what. But that’s okay since clarity will come later, most likely in hindsight—unfolding rather than a sudden revelation.

One theme that may quietly thread through this time is the question of orientation. Not so much “What do I do?” but “Where am I seeing from?” Neptune can cloud our filters. It can make things feel dreamy, disconnected, or even overwhelming — like you’re trying to think through fog. But that doesn’t mean we can’t find clarity. It just means the clarity needs to come from a quieter, more internal place, not from chasing answers or external certainty. This is particularly the case with Mercury (and to some degree also Venus) retrograde.

This is where sovereignty becomes relevant, not as a concept but as a kind of internal stability. Where we pause to notice our own thoughts and reactions, and choose how to respond—this is a quiet, everyday expression of sovereignty. It doesn’t have to be dramatic or bold. It’s often just about consulting your centre when things around you feel uncertain or unresolved.

We’re moving into a new long-term cycle. Neptune in Aries will colour the next 14 years; it will shape how we relate to vision, emergence, willpower, and conviction. Central to this is the question of the ‘I am’ — not as a statement of identity, but as an energetic stance. Who am I when I act? What is the source of my certainty, my direction, my fire?

Neptune will stir these questions, possibly clouding them at first. In Aries, it can blur the boundary between true purpose and projected self-importance, between authentic emergence and reactive force. It may fuel spiritual grandiosity, escapism disguised as courage, or denial dressed up as vision. The difference often lies in the subtle terrains—and whether the ‘I am’ is rooted in presence, or in something illusionary.

And that’s what this eclipse highlights. Perception is the ground from which everything else grows. Whether we recognise a pattern or stay looped in it (sometimes for millennia if you take into account past lives!) often comes down to whether we’re willing to see what truly is, not just what we wish were true. This is a good time to slow down and reflect on where your own perception may be shaped by unconscious beliefs, distractions, distortions or emotional entanglements.

Eclipses mostly bring fated meetings, sudden endings, revelations and epithanies that shift the entire ground or the thing you’ve been telling yourself—but they can also work quietly, transforming us from within. Pay attention to what stirs this week, even if it seems small. Some realignments don’t announce themselves in big ways—they unfold through heightened awareness, which we have access to during eclipse season.

This eclipse also brings Mercury and Neptune into close proximity. They form a conjunction in the final arc minute of Pisces before Neptune moves into Aries. It’s a rare moment — a crossover of messages and meaning, of thought and belief, of mind and mystery. Things may not make sense in the usual way.

Though with Mercury retrograde, this could further complicate perception and communication. This is not the most reliable time for facts, decisions, or external clarity. What we hear may be incomplete; what we assume may prove misleading. Not everything coming into our awareness now can be taken at face value. This doesn’t mean we need to mistrust everything, but it does mean discernment, curiosity, and slowing down reactions. The temptation is to reach for conclusions—but much of what’s surfacing now is symbolic, emotionally charged, or coming through distorted filters. Let things settle before acting.

We’re being asked to stay with the questions. To let uncertainty stretch us a little, rather than collapse into premature conclusions. That might mean not knowing where a relationship stands, not knowing what comes next with work, health or purpose. We are learning to come and move from a more honest place, one that isn’t just spontaneously expressing or reacting to the internal or external noise of the moment.

Neptune in Aries together will test us to grow up spiritually — to connect our ideals with action, to bring discernment into our dreaming. To enter into embodied sovereignty. This eclipse is the doorway for that to begin.

If nothing else, this eclipse reminds us that things are not as fixed as they seem—which is always a positive. That transformation and new patterns are available to us at certain times in our lives, more so than other points, and that sometimes it’s best we just wait for these moments. That the Divine does and actually in fact will have its way with us, does have our back, even if it means it brings us kicking and screaming. That is some reassurance.

Most importantly, this is a pattern setting time this weekend. And what you do this weekend will be like an echo reverberating into the rest of your life. That means, what you do this weekend is important, and so do what you love and what brings joy.
