Father of Cups
I adjust to every movement of water without losing myself.
Submerged in a state of alertness I enter the space born out of the emptying stream of my internal dialogue.
I was able to tame my never-ending thirst. I ride my horse without the use of reins. I understand the many songs and languages of water through my silence.
I swam through the river of forgetting. My body’s knowledge reminded me of the separation of Logos and Eros.
I am aware of unity while my ego builds crystalline landscapes. I ate from the tree of knowledge. The tissues of my organism release many images. Roses grew from neuroses.
I swam through the labyrinth of everything In learned and gently touched the crustacean at the seashore. Tenderness is flowing through my veins. I became participant, receiver, sensor, and giver.
My wife, the flowing one, told me that beneath the surface of the water depths, caves, and canyons exist.
Through her shimmering mother of pearl I glided down to the bottom.
Archetypes
The Sustainer
The Sustainer – the second archetype in the trio of existence – works behind the scenes tending to the tasks of life.
They cultivate gardens, pay bills, keep the meals warm and the mouths sweetly fed.
The Sustainer is at peace in the process of life, knowing there is no start or finish to humble yet meaningful tasks.
They have a natural inclination to nourish others, to archive, to preserve Earth’s resources, to consider environmental impact, to see their role in the divine cycle of life.
It’s common for The Sustainer to become overworked, leading to resentment.
Their tasks aren’t glamorous and therefore The Sustainer longs to hold things in place so badly (especially relationships) that they resist necessary change.
Take time with this archetype. It is within us all and needs our love.
When light it is abundant, generous, supportive, reliable. When dark it is overworked, resentful, trapped, tired.

56 – The Way of Eneichment
This hexagram is called The Traveller, and combines the trigrams Li and Ken, fire and mountain. Seekers of newness, the teller stories, moving into the metaphoric, non literal – inspiring, luminous experiences that enrich you – but of a homoeopathic dose. This is about movement, lightness, not knowing where you are going, knowing home is nowhere, living in a space without boundaries. Travelling alone you can be guided by just yourself, where profound experiences pierce you.
Moving away from distractions, investments, attachments and conditioning – regular routines, addictions, patterns and behaviour that pulls you down in your five senses. The wanderer embraces the uncertainty and surrender, moving through life with fluidity, flexibility and adaptability.
It’s a time for seeing just what is in front of your eyes and letting that unfold, AND the vast horizon, of not knowing where you are going. This is about mutability and transmutation also, lightening the load to embrace the new. You can’t travel freely with a heavy bag of wood that you need to burn – think what needs to be released – through all levels of your being and life. It can be a time for changes – homes, careers, relationships. This is a gift of feeling, sensuality and aliveness.
